My Journey: From Shy Tourist to Confident Guide
Picture this: it’s 2009, and I’m standing in the middle of Marmaris, sweating in the Turkish sun, clutching my tour guide license like it’s a shield. My heart’s racing because in five minutes I need to start my very first tour. Spoiler alert: I survived! And somehow that nervous girl ended up spending four incredible years leading tours across Turkey. Yes, that was me in Turkey, except I didn’t just visit – I turned my passion for travel into a career as a tour guide.
From 2009 to 2015, Turkey became my second home (with some breaks). The Turkish magical sunsets shaped my understanding of what travel could be. Most importantly, they taught me how to help others fall in love with exploring new places.
Here’s the real tea: traveling as an introvert isn’t always Instagram-perfect. Sometimes it means hiding in your hotel room with a book because the world feels too loud. Other times it means pushing yourself to talk to strangers and discovering they’re just as nervous as you are. And you know what? Both are perfectly okay!

The funny thing? I’m actually pretty shy! I remember my first group asking how I became a tour guide. I just smiled and said, “Sometimes life’s best surprises happen when you’re too busy worrying about other things to notice them sneaking up on you.”
